Varia Theatre

The Varia theatre utilised its space as a cinema in its later years and was erected in 1913 by architect E.Claes and closed in 1986. It has been locked down until recent times when it was opened up for renovation work. This sumptuous work of art nouveau, flamboyance and frivolity reminded me of stepping into a closely guarded time warp complete with expiry date and the kind of actors who would keep on playing long after the show had ended.
