Yorkshire Water Works- Bradfield.

The Yorkshire filter houses were built in 1913 to enable filtering for the Dale Dike, Strines and Agden reservoirs in the Loxley Valley. The surrounding countryside of the Yorkshire Dales lies within the Peak district and offers spectacular views over some of the reservoirs.

In 1930 the buildings housed the first telephone installed in Bradfield .The filter houses were extended in 1953 and closed in 1994 following the completion of a new build processing plant in the Valley. The derelict buildings currently await redevelopment, and given their rural location it was a great surprise to find such a fantastic array of skilled graffiti inside.
